Frontiers in physics : Lie Algebras in Particle Physics
howard georgi has been a professor of physics at harvard university since 1980. he took a B.A from harvard in 1967 and a Ph.D. from yale in 1971. returning to hawrvard in 1971, he did research as a national science foundation postdoctoral fellow and a junior fellow in the harvard society of fellows. he joined the faculty in 1976 and received an alferd P. Sloan foundation fellowship. Dr. georgi has worked on various aspects of unified gauge theories of quarks and leptons. with sheldon glashow, in 1973 he invented
the first and simplest of the grand unified theories of particle interactions, based on SU (5) symmetry
