This research aims to know the influence of listening English songs as a
habit toward students’ vocabulary mastery at grade ten in SMKN 1
Tanjung Sari, South Lampung. This research is an experimental
quantitative research. It was conducted at SMKN 1 Tanjung Sari, South
Lampung. In this research, the writer used the ten grade students as
subjects of the research. The researcher took 80 students from the
population as the sample. They were divided into two groups – 40
students for experimental group and 40 students for control group. The
writer used random sampling technique to select the sample. The data of
the research were collected by using pre-test and post-test. Here, the
researcher focused on experimental group because the researcher
wanted to know the influence of the subjects who studied vocabulary by
listening English songs as a habit. The researcher gave 50 questions in
the form of multiple choice. And the results of the pre-test of experimental
group was 44,95 and post-test was 68,6. The results of the pre-test of
control grup was 37,7 and post-test 49,3. From the results, it concluded
that there was influence of listening English songs as a habit toward
students’ vocabulary mastery.
