(E-SKRIPSI) THE EFFECT OF USING COMIC TO INCREASE STUDENTS' WRITING ABILITY AT SMA TRI SUKSES NATAR LAMPUNG SELATAN
This research attempts to show the findings of the effect of using comic to
increase students writing ability. The research is using Quantitative
method to show the result.
Regarding to result of the calculation can be inferred that mean score pretest
of control group is 54.3 and post-test 65.6. The mean of pre-test result
of experimental group is 61.3 and the post-test is 76.7. In pre-test of
control group the lowest score is 40 and the highest is 70. For the posttest
of experimental group the lowest score is 60 and the highest is 75.The
lowest score pre-test of experimental is 50 and the highest was 75. For the
post-test of experimental, the lowest score is 68 and the highest was 85.
The df of the data is 58, and if the ttest ≥ p value the result is valid.
According to t-table df is 58. From the calculated data the t-test is 2.8 and
p value1% is 2.39, p value 5% is 1.67(2.86>1.67), so it is higher than ttable.
It can be concluded that the result is significant. So Ha is accepted
and H0 is rejected.
Based on the result of the calculation, it was proved that teaching writing
by using comic as media to experimental students was more successful
than the control group who did not get the treatment of comic. Comic can
stimulate students’ creativity, especially in elaborating the idea and
vocabulary. It can be said that comic can stimulate the imagination and
creativity in order to produce a good writing. By using comic, students
were motivated to learn and their brain would easily processed idea in the
learning processes. They could express their thought freely without any
big obstacle in generating creative thoughts. The vocabulary, language
use, organization and the mechanic of experimental group was better than
control group.
