GUI Applications Development Using Net Framework - I - Student Guide
Description
This course GUI Applications Development Using .NET Framework explains how to design, develop, and deploy Windows-based applications by using Visual C#.NET. It covers all characteristics of Windows-based programming, such as creating and configuring Windows forms, adding and configuring controls, and creating and managing dialog boxes, menus, and multiple-document interface (MDI) container applications. In addition, this sub-module discusses how to implement the printing and reporting functionalities, how to implement asynchronous programming, and how to implement accessibility and globalization features in Windows-based applications.
Rationale
Applications often fail due to lack of interactivity and ease of use. A graphical user interface (GUI) offers the user a sophisticated interface and controls to interact with the application. This makes the whole experience user friendly.
Most applications do not offer interoperability with other applications that run on different platforms. Microsoft has introduced the .NET initiative with the intention of bridging the interoperability gap between applications running on different platforms. You can use languages and APIs available with the .NET Framework to develop GUI-based applications. Microsoft Window Forms is the most sought after API to develop GUI-based applications on the Windows platform.
